Waffles With a View at Waffle Khan | Dotonbori, Osaka | Japan

Waffle Khan is located in the popular Dotonbori area of Osaka. Here you can find lots of restaurants, Japanese street food stalls, drug stores... pretty much anything! If you've ever visited the Shinsaibashi or Namba areas in Osaka, then you'll likely have visited this area too!

Waffle Khan seems to be a chain that originated in Korea and has now expanded to Japan. Aside from the store in Dotonbori, there is also a Waffle Khan in Ikuno Koreatown in Osaka (Koreatown is totally worth a visit by the way!)

The store in Dotonbori only opened recently and is actually now open 24hrs, so you can satisfy your sweet (or savoury!) tooth any time of day or night! Osaka has a few eateries that are open 24hrs, or often until 3am or 5am in the morning, and people who've missed their last train for the night often go to these places to relax (sleep) before getting their first train in the morning. Sounds a little weird, doesn't it? You'll often find people sleeping at the Mc Donald's in this area if you visit late at night.

The cafe itself is very modern looking, and great for Instagram photos. Not only do the waffles at Waffle Khan look great, but they also taste amazing, and the cafe is quite generous with the toppings, as you can see from the photos.

Visiting Japan soon? Don't forget to buy your Japan Rail Pass to enjoy discounted travel on JR trains throughout the country.

This is a decent place to rest your tired legs after an afternoon of shopping or exploring. Or perhaps you arrived into Osaka late at night and were having a hard time trying to find somewhere to eat. Either way, order downstairs, and then find a seat on the first or second floor - there is tons of seating upstairs, and there's even a counter space that overlooks the famous Dotonbori river.

That's an amazing looking waffle. Don't know if I'd eat it for breakfast, but I'd give it a try for dinner.

Definitely a lot of sugar for early in the morning 😅 They do have some savory waffles too though!
