We started off with some vegetarian and pork spring rolls, then moved onto mains. The spring rolls were the best I've had in a while, but I'd love to see some garnish on the plate.
The pho broth was flavourful, and the taste reminded my fellow diners of their trip to Vietnam. It came with bean sprouts, herbs, and some lemon on the side, similar to how the dish is served in Vietnam. There's plenty of chilli sauce and chilli oil on the table to add additional flavours to the dishes as needed.
The prawn vermicelli noodles had just the right balance of ingredients, and the dish came with the perfect amount of sauce. I did add in a little chilli oil, as I like spicy food, but to be honest, the dish was perfectly fine the way it came.
Pho Downtown is not only providing a taste of authentic Vietnamese food in Geelong, but it is also helping to diversify the city's food scene. It's a great place to visit for a casual lunch or dinner in the Geelong CBD.
There's a public carpark directly outside the restaurant, so you shouldn't have too much trouble finding somewhere to park. The restaurant takes reservations, and also offers food on local delivery apps.
