Bonny’s Bake Shop is a small bakery located in the Chuo Ward of Osaka, not too far from Osaka Castle Park. The area is mostly residential, but there are a couple of other cafes in the area including the popular Tawanico and Towanoa - both of which are very popular on Instagram.
Bonny’s Bake Shop offers American style baked goods for eat-in or take-out. During the times I visited, the store didn't have their indoor seating in use, but there are a few tables out the front of the cafe where you can enjoy your baked goods if you choose to eat-in.
Eating at Bonny's Bake Shop requires one drink order per person in addition to the baked goods you've chosen. If this bothers you then I recommend walking to Osaka Castle Park or to the nearby Nakaoe Park for a picnic instead. Nakaoe Park is a small neighborhood park often enjoyed by families, and is an absolutely gorgeous park to visit in spring when the cherry blossoms bloom.
On my visits to Bonny’s I’ve spotted muffins, cookies, brownies, as well as cheesecakes and various other types of cakes. However, by far my favourite menu items at this cafe are the berry pies. The filling is generous with just the right amount of sweet and sour, and the pastry is fresh and flaky. If you'd like your pie warmed up, just ask the staff - personally I think it's the best way to enjoy them!

I often buy a few extra items to take home with me to enjoy during the week. The baked goods tend to keep pretty well if sealed in an airtight container, and the staff will give you some hints on storage and on how to best warm up the items at home if you ask.
There’s usually a line at Bonny’s Bake Shop so I recommend arriving close to opening time if possible, otherwise just be prepared to wait a while to enter the store. This cafe is a must-visit for anyone missing handmade American style treats. It’s located right in-between three train stations, but is a bit of a walk from each, so pop the address into Google Maps and see which one works best for you.
Please note that the menu changes daily, so best to check their social media for the current Bonny's Bake Shop menu.
Suggested access: Temmabashi station, Tanimachiyonchome station, Sakaisuji Hommachi station.
