I found out about Bonne Journee after seeing a photo posted on Instagram showing the beautiful shaved ice creations, and I immediately put it on my to-go list. This cafe is conveniently located in the Shinsaibashi area which is a well-known area in Osaka for shopping, food, and entertainment.
Bonne Journee is quite small and seats only around six people, so it's probably a good idea to call and make a reservation, especially in the warmer months. I had a chat with the owner of this cafe who told me that while there are some staple items on the menu, many of the items change with the seasons. I visited this Japanese dessert cafe just recently and was lucky enough to catch the tail end of the strawberry season.
As for the taste... The ice is just right - firm, and soft at the same time - and the cafe is very generous with toppings. I liked that the shaved ice had some tasty hidden treasures inside. It helped keep the shaved iced delicious until the last bite.
I look forward to visiting Bonne Journee again soon, especially now that summer is here!
Unlike some shaved ice shops that only open in the warmer months, this shaved ice cafe is open all year round, but be sure to check their Instagram page or Google Maps for opening days/times, as they frequently change.

That shaved ice looks amazing! I'm going to follow your lead and now put it on my list!
That is the most beautiful shaved ice I have ever seen! To make it even better it is strawberry flavored, one of my favorites.
YUM! I wonder what the crunchy looking stuff is inside them? I love desserts! No wonder this place only has a small seating availability, they look so detailed!
Yum! You had me at dessert. This Osaka cafe would be a must do for me when I visit. Thanks for getting it on my radar!
This looks fabulous. There is a Japanese dessert shop in Auckland that has shaved ice but it looks nothing like this.
